Responsible gambling policy

The obligations we carry under the Northern Territory code and the National Consumer Protection Framework.

What governs us

Puntaa Pty Ltd, trading as Picklebet, is licensed to conduct the business of a sports bookmaker in the Northern Territory. License Number: NT-RWC-SB-2017-0412. We operate under the Northern Territory Code of Practice for Responsible Online Gambling and the National Consumer Protection Framework for Online Wagering.

Undertakings

  1. A deposit limit is set by every customer before a first wager. Reductions bite immediately; increases serve a seven-day cooling-off period.
  2. Activity statements issue automatically and on demand, covering deposits, withdrawals, turnover and net position.
  3. No credit is offered, no money lent, and no credit card, credit-related product or digital currency accepted for deposits.
  4. No inducement to join, to refer, or to continue betting is advertised anywhere.
  5. Marketing halts immediately and permanently upon a break, a limit reduction, a closure or a BetStop registration.
  6. Customer-facing staff are trained to identify indicators of harm and required to act on them.
  7. BetStop is checked at application and enforced continuously thereafter.
  8. Responsible gambling messaging appears on every page and in every communication we send.

Intervening with customers

Where activity displays indicators of harm. Deposits escalating sharply, repeated attempts to raise a limit, sustained overnight betting, or a deposit landing straight after a substantial loss. Staff are obliged to respond. That response is a direct, entirely non-promotional contact laying out the controls available and the support services. Under no circumstances is it an offer, a credit, or an encouragement to carry on.

Training

Every customer-facing employee completes responsible gambling training before handling a first contact and refreshes it each year. The syllabus covers harm indicators, the intervention procedure, the tools customers hold, and referral into Gambling Help Online.

Advertising conduct

  • Nothing placed inside the restricted windows surrounding live sport broadcasts.
  • Nothing placed in media directed at, or likely to appeal chiefly to, under-18s.
  • No portrayal of betting as a path to financial security, status or social success.
  • No current sporting figure used in a manner that promotes wagering.
  • A responsible gambling message and the 18+ mark on every advertisement.

Keeping it current

Reviewed annually, and again whenever the Northern Territory code or the National Consumer Protection Framework changes materially. The review date appears at the head of this page.
